  5. SCIM386Xplus provides a complete PC AT on a rugged 100x160mm module compatible
  6. with the STE (IEEE-1000) backplane bus standard. It offers a rugged foundation
  7. for embedded control and data acquisition computer systems. The board packs the
  8. powerful 386SX onto a single Eurocard with extensive memory and I/O capability;
  9. 100% PC AT compatibility is provided by the SCATSX chipset. A local mezzanine
  10. expansion interface provides a means of matching on-board hardware to the
  11. industrial requirement, to minimise system board count and costs. Eight
  12. surface-mount memory sites allow up to 4Mbytes of DRAM to be fitted; this can
  13. be extended by another 16Mbytes using local expansion - providing the large
  14. memory arrays required to run UNIX. Further hardware includes a 32-pin EPROM
  15. socket, maths co-processor socket, IDE and floppy disk controllers, keyboard
  16. interface, real-time clock, loudspeaker output, COM1, COM2 and LPT ports. VGA
  17. graphics is available via a mezzanine module.
